Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use TestConn. Last updated 18 July 2026.

Acceptance

By using TestConn, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

The service

TestConn provides a free browser-based internet speed test and displays public network information about your connection. It is offered for general information and personal diagnostic use.

No guarantee of accuracy

Measurements are provided “as is” and represent what your browser could achieve at a single moment, on that device and connection. Results vary with Wi-Fi conditions, device performance, network congestion, VPN use and server distance, and may differ from other testing services or from the speeds advertised by your provider.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result is accurate. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for a contractual dispute, purchase decision or technical conclusion.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use automated systems to run tests at a scale that burdens the service or the infrastructure it depends on;
  • attempt to disrupt, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site;
  • use the service for any unlawful purpose.

Note that each test transfers real data, which may count against a mobile or metered data allowance.

Third-party services

The service depends on third-party infrastructure, including the network the measurements run against and the provider of IP data. Their availability and behaviour are outside our control, and their own terms apply to their services.

Intellectual property

The TestConn name, design and written content are owned by the operator. Other product and company names mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners; their use does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, or from decisions taken on the basis of a measurement. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the service develops. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
