Privacy Policy
How TestConn handles information when you use this site. Last updated 18 July 2026.
Who we are
TestConn is operated by [Operator name]. For any privacy question or request, contact contact@testconn.com.
What we process
- Your IP address — read from your request in order to show your public IP and look up your network provider, ASN and country.
- Measurement data — download and upload speed, ping and jitter, generated in your browser and displayed to you.
- Standard technical data — information your browser sends with any web request, processed by our hosting provider to deliver the site.
What we do not store
- We do not permanently store full IP addresses. Your IP is used to answer your request and is not retained afterwards.
- We do not write your IP address to application logs or analytics.
- We do not store your speed-test results. They exist in your browser for the session and are gone when you leave.
- We do not operate user accounts or keep a history of your tests.
If this ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.
How the measurement affects your data
Speed tests run against Cloudflare’s edge infrastructure. Cloudflare receives the connection traffic and your IP address as a necessary part of performing the measurement. Where the measurement library supports it, TestConn disables the additional results logging that would otherwise be sent.
Download, upload, latency and jitter are browser-based measurements. Packet loss is not currently measured and is displayed as N/A. Results may differ from other testing services. The Methodology page explains the method in full.
Third parties
- Cloudflare — provides the measurement endpoints your browser tests against.
- IP data provider — receives your IP address server-side in order to return your network provider, ASN and country.
- Hosting provider — serves this website and processes standard request data.
Each third party processes data under its own privacy terms. If advertising is introduced in future, this section and the Cookie Policy will be updated first, and consent will be collected where required.
Legal basis and retention
Processing your IP address is necessary to provide the service you requested: without it, the site cannot show your network details or run a meaningful test. Data is processed for the duration of your request and is not retained afterwards.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to it or lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because TestConn does not store your data after your request, there is normally nothing held to retrieve or erase — but you are welcome to contact us with any request or question.
Children
TestConn is a general-audience diagnostic tool and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site develops — for example when advertising or new features are introduced. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
