IP & Network Information
Alongside every speed test, TestConn shows the public IP address and network your connection appears to be using.
What TestConn shows
When you open the speed test, TestConn detects and displays four details about your connection:
- Public IP address — the address the internet sees for your connection. It is masked by default; use the Show IP control to reveal it.
- Provider — the organisation that operates the network your traffic comes from.
- ASN — the Autonomous System Number identifying that network, for example AS15169.
- Country — an approximate country-level location derived from the IP address.
Location is country-level only. TestConn does not determine your city, street or precise position.
If you use a VPN or proxy
The IP and provider shown describe the connection as it reaches the internet. If you are on a VPN, proxy, or corporate network, the details will belong to that service rather than your home internet provider. TestConn cannot reliably detect whether a VPN is in use, so it never claims the result is your home ISP.
Privacy
Your IP and network details are detected for your session and are not stored by TestConn. The lookup runs on our server so that no API credentials are exposed in your browser, and the response is sent only to you and marked as non-cacheable. Full IP addresses are not written to logs or analytics.

Where to find it
These details appear in the results area of the speed test, and they load independently of the measurement — you do not need to run a test to see them.
